About
I started this website to honor Penny who was adopted from a Breed Rescue Club. Here is my story about this amazing experience.
Remembering Penny
Buy a puppy or rescue a dog…That was the question? Easy choice…rescue a boxer.
I remember the day over ten years ago. Driving three hours with my son from Lake Placid, New York to Norwalk, Connecticut to visit the CT Boxer Rescue. The dogs were located at a vet office. Out they came, one at a time. All looking for a new home. Then came Penny, a smaller boxer with a great personality and lots of energy. She loved my son right from the start and it was the right choice. Penny was a long haul truck driver’s dog who could no longer care for her. In the car she jumped and quickly fell asleep for the trip back home. There was peace for Penny. She had finally found her Forever Home. With patience and love she blossomed into our Best Friend. hiking, camping, car trips… everywhere we went Penny followed. By my son’s side her whole life. Penny died on my birthday a few years ago at age 10. We gave her a good home and she gave us so many memories. I celebrate her on my birthday each year and wish everyone could experience the satisfaction of adopting a rescue dog.
My heartfelt thanks to Michele McArdle from the Boxer Rescue in Norwalk, CT.
Dedicated to Penny 1996 – 2006
